Janet Carson’s painting career is a journey that spans both decades and a myriad of styles. Explore her illustrious library of work at A Janet Carson Retrospective, the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center’s display of Carson’s history of art. Take a gander at paintings from her graduate schoolwork in the 1940s, to her most recent pieces; from oil-on-canvas still life and watercolor, to screenprint and abstract landscapes. The best and brightest of her life’s work will be displayed, in addition to over 100 shrink-wrapped pieces for sale. Not only a master artist, but professor at UW-Eau Claire, Carson is giving back to the art world by donating her proceeds to the Arts Center’s renovation project. Aspects of this major renovation include an expansion of the gallery, an entrance to Eau Claire Street, and a new window facing the street. A closing reception will take place for the retrospective, Saturday, Nov. 22, from 1-3pm. The event gives the public a chance to chat with the artist herself and purchase paintings from her diverse collection.
