Stout, UWEC Announce Spring Semester Films

Trevor Kupfer |

UW-Eau Claire’s activities commission and Stout’s Blue Devil Productions have a lineup of about 20 films sprinkled throughout the spring semester, with everything from musicals and fantasy to animé and action. Stout’s lineup features several films released to theaters in 2008 (the newest James Bond flick Quantum of Solace, Gus Van Sant’s biopic Milk, Jim Carrey comedy Yes Man, and reverse-aging parable The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), plus the video game documentary King of Kong. UWEC, of course, continues its annual tradition with another screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It also features the Neil Gaiman fantasy MirrorMask, highly depressing animé Grave of the Fireflies, and the 2008 Swedish vampire flick that kicked Twilight in the fangs (Let the Right One In). UWEC also has The Fall (2006), The Fountain (2006), Inside (2007), The Visitor (2007), The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006), La Vie en Rose (2007), Turtles Can Fly (2004), and The Green Butchers (2003).
