New Auburn author and musician Michael Perry has happily agreed to host the 2011 Big Top Chautauqua Tent Show Radio series – a weekly show featuring live performances, broadcast to listener supported radio, and online stations across the country. “I’ve long enjoyed attending shows at the Big Top Chautauqua,” says Perry. As a matter of fact, he was invited to read at last year’s Old Last Night Season Finale. Perry returns to host live performances of the BTC’s own Blue Canvas Orchestra, as well as many regional and national performers. “Between the live music of the Blue Canvas Orchestra and guests ranging from Joan Baez to Willie Nelson, I’ll share my thoughts on things like cheap cereal, Cheesehead Spanglish, and the smell of tromped grass,” says Perry. “I’ll also provide strikingly original comments along the lines of: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome [insert music star name here].’ ” You can catch the show locally on WHWC 88.3 FM on Saturday evenings at 7pm.
