Pale Kid Who Raps Fast Headed to UW-Eau Claire

Betty Nikia |

The winner of the Brave New Voices award for the 2006 National Poetry Slam, George Watsky, will be spouting lyrics at super-human speed at UWEC on April 24. Watsky, “a versatile lyricist who switches between silly and serious, technically complex, and simply heartfelt,” has toured universities across the country. Watsky put out a self-titled album on iTunes in 2007, but it wasn’t until 2010 when his YouTube video “Pale Kid Raps Fast” went viral that he got widespread recognition. If you missed his video, you may have seen him on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. If you want to see him in person, he will be helping to break in the newly revamped Schofield Auditorium for a 7:30pm performance. The event is sponsored by the University Activities Commission and is free and open to the public.
