Baby Blanket's New Gem

Eric Christenson |

Eau Claire/Minneapolis pop crooner Baby Blanket released his second single last week – an infectious tune called “i tried so hard to sleep away the sad,” produced by Eau Claire beatmaker North House. The duo – who debuted their first cut “i never liked my birthday anyways” last year – premiered the new track on UK music blog Gold Flake Paint who called it “brilliantly addictive” and “another mightily impressive step.” The new track is a pumping pop gem with an instantly catchy hook of “sinking deeper, deeper” to launch the single into a weird and inviting stratosphere. WIth only two songs and a handful of guest features, Baby Blanket already has a buzzing online presence, a bright future, and a smooth, deep voice in the vein of Corbin or James Blake.
