Volunteer, gather, and BBQ to thank veterans for service

The Chippewa Valley is gearing up to honor former service members with several Veteran’s Day events the weekend of Nov. 11. Begin at Minnesota Wire as they host their 10th annual Veteran’s Day BBQ at their manufacturing facility on Friday, Nov. 10. Come by to thank a veteran, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy a beverage. The event, which starts at 10:30am, includes product displays, vintage vehicle viewings, and military exhibits. The colors and dedication ceremony will take place at 11am, and the event wraps up at 2pm. On Veteran’s Day Leinenkugel's Brewery and the Chippewa Falls YMCA partner with volunteers to pack and mail care packages to service members. Packing starts at 8:30am and goes until 11:30am. Donations for care packages are being accepted at the brewery and the recreation facility until Friday, Nov. 10. Later that night from 6:30-9pm Whitesidewalls is performing at the Stout Alehouse in Menomonie to raise money for the Dunn County Veterans Services Office. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. A raffle to win a signed guitar will be held.
