Here we are in a new year, with new opportunities on the horizon. On page 28 we look ahead into the topics many of us across the community will be talking about in the months ahead. But here, with that forward-looking spirit in mind, we share two major bits of news at Volume One to kick things off in 2018:


We’re excited to announce Volume One is hiring into our dynamic advertising and partnership sales team. These are the professionals who get to work with local businesses and ideas, connecting them with the people of their community. The role could be hired as part of the team, or to lead it as manager. Either way, the winning candidate will join forces with the area’s largest independently-owned and operated, award-winning media group, and spend their days with creative people both inside our inspiring downtown space and out in the community. Tickets are now on sale for our brand-new event, The Best Night, held on Feb. 9 in the Lismore Halls in downtown Eau Claire. It’s a highly creative, interactive cocktail party celebrating the Best of the Chippewa Valley Reader Poll (results out Feb. 6!) and the new Chippewa Valley Vanguard Awards. There’ll be food, drinks, music, technology, and more, including art installations, roving performances, and curious collaborations from a bunch of amazing partners who make this community what it is.
