Indulge in classic fair food while listening to live music, browsing and attending a wide range of exhibits and events, or hopping on a carnival ride at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair. The fair, which has been a northern Wisconsin staple for more than a century, takes place at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in Chippewa Falls and runs from July 11-15. A massive mix of food vendors will be there serving up all sorts of deep-fried, boiled, baked, and grilled goodies. Musicians taking the main stage this year include Frankie Ballard, Chris Lane, Martina McBride, and Cheap Trick. Other featured performers include Jared Sherlock: Comic Magician & Illusionist, Kenny Ahern Physical Comic, Brady Luke, CJ & The Boys, and Unstable Boys. On top of all that, there are a variety of agricultural and scientific exhibits and events scattered throughout each day. The main entrance opens at 9am while the east entrance opens at 8am. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or online, $10 for adults or $5 for children. A five-day adult pass costs $20. A daily schedule, details on additional pricing, and other information can be found online at northernwistatefair.com.
