“Into The Sun” by Jill Van Sickle
24x48, acrylics, oil pastels on canvas, 2015

Jill Van Sickle is a full-time professional artist based out of Minneapolis. She splits her time making paintings for retail and galleries, and for private/corporate commissions.

After earning her degree in Fine Arts from UW-River Falls, Jill went on to become a full-time professional artist. Her work is primarily focused on nature, and its intent is to give the viewer a moment of quiet joy, as an interruption to our fast-moving, high-stressed world. Most recently, Jill’s work has gained the attention of hospitals and health clinics in the way her paintings can transform a room into calming, inspirational and/or invigorating space. Jill’s home is Minneapolis. Each winter she takes a working trip to paint on location, which offers her new and exciting inspiration. In her free time she volunteers with several animal rescues as a pet foster.

Volume One finds its cover art in a number of ways, from local art shows to random emails to knowing someone who knows someone who knows a great artist. The art always originates from a current or former Chippewa Valley resident. If you'd like to submit cover art, send us a message.
