The Tuesday Night Blues summer concert series, which takes place weekly in Owen Park, will close its 2018 season August 28 with a performance by Duluth folk legend Charlie Parr.

Parr has been performing since the 1980s, and his musical career has yielded 14 albums and countless collaborations, vinyl releases, and compilations. His most recent album, Dog, is full of twangy, half-spoken lyrics sung around guitar picking that has the easy, ambling timing of decades of practice. Usually on tour for the better part of the year, Parr has been known to do more than 250 gigs annually. His musical marathon was held up this summer after an accident in August that left his shoulder broken in three places.

Tuesday Night Blues in Eau Claire will be his first live performance since the injury. Tuesday Night Blues features live music, food, and vendor booths to peruse as you listen to smooth blues. The outdoor event is family- and dog-friendly, followed by an afterparty at The Plus that goes until 11pm.
