The Master Singers’ 26th season will begin at the Pablo Center Oct. 14 in the Jamf Theatre with America My Home: Flight Song.

The two-part program will begin with songs to honor those who have served in the armed forces, a tribute to the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day.

Conductor Gary R. Schwartzhoff will lead the Singers in Homeland, by Z Randall Stroope; Joshua Rist’s Invictus; and Pail Atikin’s Flanders Fields before inviting the audience to close the first half with Irving Berlin’s God Bless America.

The second half of the program features a composition based on the writing of Robert Frost, and the American Folk Classic “Down to the River to Pray.”

The finale will be the premiere of The River’s Song, composed by The Master Singers’ artist in residence, Elaine Hagenberg. This work uses verses by former Wisconsin Poet Laureate Max Garland, and was funded by a grant from Visit Eau Claire.
