Attention Chippewa Valley Foodies: If you swoon at the mere thought of Mexican food, then you need to head to Paraíso Escondido Seafood ASAP. This hidden gem – located in the back of La Misma Luna Mexican Supermarket on London Road – serves up traditional Mexican food and recently expanded its space and offerings, just in time for Cinco de Mayo.

Rossy Garcia, the manager of Paraíso Escondido Seafood, expects the expansion to wrap up within the next couple of weeks.

When you first enter La Misma Luna, you walk into the Mexican grocery store; however, if you continue through the store to the back of the building, you find Paraíso Escondido Seafood. Garcia explains that they intend to transform this portion of the building. “We’re going to make it more like a restaurant with a full bar,” she said.

While many Mexican restaurants in the area tend to offer “American” Mexican food, Paraíso Escondido Seafood deviates from this norm. “We’re going to show them more of the authentic Mexican food,” Garcia said.  “And we’ll have more seafood dishes on the menu.”

Moreover, according to Garcia, they intend to make a few more changes to the joint. “We’ll be more like a late-night restaurant, so we’ll be open until 2am on the weekends,” she says.

Garcia hopes the restaurant continues to expand in the future. In addition, she hopes to expose more of the area to authentic Mexican cuisine. “We serve real Mexican food here,” Garcia says. “And we have the best tacos in town!”

Garcia says that she expects a happy atmosphere with these updates, and she looks forward to the growth of the space.

Paraíso Escondido Seafood is at 2824 London Road, Eau Claire.  More information on weekly specials and events is available at www.facebook.com/laluna.28/
