Gash

Local favorite Eau Claire noise rock outfit Gash recently dropped two new tunes on a split EP with Milwaukee band Divine Crush. The split, which is called Split, features two new songs from each band. Gash’s half, two songs called “the kid” and “thumb,” are some of the band’s best. They have an uncanny way of relishing in the unexpected, changing up tunes second to second, and making the absolute most of 10 minutes of music. Stream it everywhere and download the songs at gashrash.bandcamp.com.

Eau Claire native Pat Keen is releasing a brand new six-track EP called Oakland Ave., full of experimental and bright folk songs, on July 12 with a show at The Warming House in Minneapolis. The announcement came with the release of a new single called “Illusion Free” and a west coast tour throughout July. To check out the new tune and learn more, go to patkeen.bandcamp.com

Local Christian music festival OneFest returns to Chippewa Falls this summer with some extra help by securing a $24,800 Joint Effort Marketing (JEM) Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. The second annual festival takes place July 26-28 at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds. “We’re happy to welcome the festival back to Wisconsin for its second year,” said Tourism Secretary-designee Sara Meaney. “This JEM Grant will help event organizers reach families and adults in a niche market.” To learn more and grab tickets, go to www.one-fest.com.
