If you’re looking for a “unique outdoor music experience in the heart of the city,” look no further than the Oxbeaux III at the Oxbow Hotel on Aug. 9-10. There will be beer, cocktails, soda, lots of food, and good tunes. “Stay with us, dine with us, drink with us – right in the beating heart of downtown Eau Claire, WI, where the rivers, trails, music, and nightlife all converge in a city on the rise,” the Oxbow Hotel website said. “Let us be your guide.” Hosted by The Brewing Projekt, Shelter Architecture, 89.3 The Current, and Volume One, day one will be in the Oxbow parking lot featuring local bands Drunk Drivers, Arms Aloft, Pit Wagon, and North of Dixie Bluegrass Band. Then Saturday, Galloway Street gets blocked off with a huge stage for a block party like no other featuring Jenny Lewis, the Shouting Matches (a.k.a. Justin Vernon’s blues-rock outfit), Sanborn/Roseneau, Flock of Dimes, Alpha Consumer, and Sniffle Party. On Friday, gates open at the courtyard at 5pm on Saturday night on the street at 3pm. The event ends at 11pm on both days. Tickets are $10 on Friday, $25 for Saturday, and $30 for both days. Saturday ticket prices will go up to $30 at the gates (if there are any left by then!) so get your tickets early. Food and drink is available outside, as well as in The Lakely. Parking is available in nearby ramps. All ages are welcome, and there are ID wristbands at the event. Get your tickets at volumeonetickets.org. Rain or shine, the event will go on!
