Do these tires make my bite look fat?

If you’re feeling the winter blues already, a common side effect of 5pm darkness and 20 degree temperatures, the upcoming SHIFT Santa Ride is a perfect way to get you back outside just in time to embrace the holiday spirit! On Dec. 14, participants – dressed as Santas, elves, or any holiday-themed characters (albeit with required helmets) – will meet at SHIFT Cyclery & Coffee Bar at noon, and cruise along on a paved snow-free 10-mile bike ride!

Riders will make stops at local establishments such as The Joynt, the Livery (remember to bring cash for those well-deserved beverages), and Stache Bike & Adventure, the newly opened bike shop in downtown Eau Claire. When you arrive at SHIFT, be sure to drop off your toy donation for Toys for Tots, which will make you eligible to win some prizes from New Belgium Brewing.

“Lets brave the cold and celebrate the holidays,” Adrian Ong, manager at SHIFT, said in summing up the spirit of the ride. Whether you can’t make this date, or you love the idea of multiple winter rides, don’t fret! There are more winter rides to come. SHIFT’s winter fat tire bike rides will explore popular trails in the Chippewa Valley such as Lowes Creek. Fat tire bikes will be available to buy/rent for these trail events.
