The Eau Claire Horseshoe Club, a group of local horseshoes pitchers and enthusiasts, is hosting a statewide tournament for their beloved game right here in Carson Park. The Wisconsin Horseshoe Pitchers Association State Tournament will be held Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4, 5, and 6 – bringing some of the best horseshoe pitchers from all over the state to compete. The event is free for spectators, and any aspiring horseshoe-ists chasing gold and glory have to register and pay $25 on the WHPA website – whpahorseshoes.com. The Eau Claire Horseshoe Club has been around since 1965, and have grown considerably into their 18-court pitching complex in the pines of Carson Park. They hold three tournaments annually, so now’s a great time to get in on the action. To learn more, find the Eau Claire Horseshoe Club on Facebook.
