Grab your lactose pills and your cell phone because you won't want to miss this Eau-so-cheesy experience.

Come right this whey, says Visit Eau Claire, which recently launched the Curd Crawl – a free and mobile exclusive pass that features 18 local businesses that offer cheese curds on their menu. The more businesses folks visit, the more prizes they earn.

This cheesy adventure starts off offering free decals after four visits and free T-shirts after eight visits. Who wouldn't want to proudly state, "I crawled for curds in Eau Claire, Wisconsin"?  If you visit eight locations before March 31, you can be entered to win a stay at an Eau Claire hotel, with two tickets to the Bill Engvall show at the Pablo Center on May 19. If you visit all 18 stops before next December, you'll be entered into a sweepstakes to stay at another Eau Claire hotel.

Local eateries – including 44 North, Girolamo's Court'n House Bar & Grill, Dooleys Pub, Northern Tap House, and many more – are excited to transcend new customers into a "whole new universe of cheese-filled goodness," according to the Visit Eau Claire website.

“Eau Claire has some of the best cheese curds in the Midwest," said Benny Anderson, executive director of Visit Eau Claire, "so we are grateful for the opportunity to promote them and the incredible businesses that create them."

You can download the pass at the Visit Eau Claire website, receive a confirmation text, check in, and go treat yourself to the best deep-fried appetizer from there. On your way, check out this Curd Crawl “training video.”
