The Eau Claire Community Foundation celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with the grantin’ o’ the green – dollars, that is. On March 17, the foundation announced the distribution of more than $105,000 in grants through its Give Green Grant Catalog.

The Grant Catalogs were launched this year to celebrate the foundation’s 25th anniversary, and make use of an online crowdfunding platform to collect donations for local nonprofits in various categories. The Give Green catalog included 17 nonprofits that address the environment, animals, and fitness opportunities in the Eau Claire area. Those nonprofits raised more than $80,000 through the grant catalog, and top fundraisers received bonus grants from the foundation.

The biggest bonus – worth $10,000 – went to the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley, which raised money for a summer gardening program for local youth. In addition, the Flying Eagles Ski Club received a $7,000 bonus grant to add more coaches for young skiers, and the Eastside Hill Neighborhood Association received a bonus of $5,000 for new playground amenities at Boyd Park.

In April, the foundation plans to launch another grant catalog, dubbed Offer Opportunities, which will raised funds for basic needs such as food, shelter, and medical care. Learn more about the Grant Catalogs and the Eau Claire Community Foundation at eccfwi.org.
