HARPS AND HISTORY. The Chippewa Valley Museum is bringing back its Music at the Museum series.

Music at the Museum, located on the Chippewa Valley Museum grounds in Eau Claire’s Carson Park, has launched its 2022 outdoor summer concert series. The concerts, which celebrate regional musical traditions, are free. All music lovers need to do is bring their blankets, chairs, and bug spray.

The series kicked off on Sunday, June 12, with the toe-tapping tunes of the Maple Ridge Bluegrass Band opened by the Student Harp Ensemble. It continues on Monday, July 4, at noon with a flag-raising ceremony followed by patriotic and Americana music performed by the Eau Claire Municipal Band and the Sliced Bread Jug Band until 2pm.

Local Egg Heads won’t want to miss their beloved and eclectic Eggplant Heroes playing on Sunday, July 10, 12:30pm-2:30 pm. The Galaxies album release concert on Sunday, July 24, 12:30pm-2:30pm debuts the improvisational trio of local artists: Grammy-nominated recording musician Peter Phippen on his antique shakuhachi flute, mystic sound healer Rahbi Crawford on her crystal bowls, combined with cosmic synthesized soundscapes by award-winning composer Ivar Lunde, Jr.

And, who knows which friends will show up to jam with Davey J & Friends on Sunday, August 14, 1:30pm-3:30pm. Tomahawk Circle, an Ojibwe Family Drum Circle from the Lac Du Flambeau Reservation, will cap off the series on Sunday, August 21, 12:30pm-2:30pm.
