The only thing better than going out to eat with friends is going out to eat while earning a chance to win a trip for two to sunny Cancun, Mexico. That’s the opportunity you’ll have during Restaurant Week and beyond through our Dining Passport Program.

The grand prize is a four-night stay for two people at the Iberostar Quetzal, an all-inclusive resort along the white sand beaches of Playa del Carmen. The trip includes roundtrip airfare from Minneapolis to Cancun as well as private transportation between the airport and the resort. Combined the trip has a $3,500 value, and comes courtesy of MouseTrekker (www.mousetrekker.us), a Chippewa Valley-based online travel agency.

As you might guess from the name, MouseTrekker was inspired in part by a certain cartoon mouse. “It basically came about because we both love to travel, and I am a huge Disney fan, and I found a way to combine the two and help people plan their Disney trips,” said Staci Altuzar, who co-owns the business with her husband, Mario.

Visit 10 different participating establishments and have them stamp or sign your passport proving you visited.

MouseTrekker soon expanded beyond connecting travelers with Disney theme parks, cruises, and other destinations to include helping with vacations to Mexico, too. These include trips to the Iberostar Quetzal, a 350-room, family-friendly resort that boasts white sand beaches, turquoise Caribbean waters, and lush green jungles.

MouseTrekker can help travelers rest easy by navigating both travel arrangements and frequently changing COVID-era protocols. “We’re trying to take the stress off of you so you can have the perfect vacation,” Altuzar said.

Now that your imagination is on a Mexican beach, how do we get the rest of you there? Simply stop in to eat at any of the nearly 30 participating restaurants during Restaurant Week (listed in the back of this guide) and pick up your passport, which you can only get during Restaurant Week. After that, you have until Nov. 16, 2022 (60 days) to visit 10 different participating establishments and have them stamp or sign your passport proving you visited.

If you can’t make it to all 10, don’t worry: If you make it to at least five, there are tons of prizes to be won as well! (Check out chippewavalleyrestaurantweek.com/contests for an updated list of prizes.)

Completed (or half-completed) passports must be mailed or turned in to Volume One, 205 N. Dewey St., Eau Claire, WI 54701, by Nov. 16, and the winner will be randomly selected on Friday, Nov. 18. Additional details are printed on the passport itself. So go out, eat well, and win big!
