Joining the 30+ Jersey Mike’s sub shop locations in Wisconsin and more than 2,500 worldwide, Eau Claire will welcome not one, but two Jersey Mike’s restaurants in 2023. The first of the duo, located at 945 W. Clairemont Ave., Suite C, is currently projected to open in May.

The Clairemont shop will be sandwiched (cheap pun, but we had to) between Chipotle and Hawaii Poké Bowl, while the second location will be at 4732 Golf Road, the current address for a Caribou Coffee. That Jersey Mike’s location is projected to open in October.

Jersey Mike’s franchisee Bart Crockett said he snagged the Golf Road spot because the Caribou plans to move to another location which will have a drive-through window.

Crockett, whose franchise group owns the Jersey Mike’s in Onalaska, also owns a Rochester, Minnesota store, and a handful across the eastern Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. He said the move to open Jersey Mike’s in Eau Claire felt like a “logical progression” considering their success with the Onalaska and Minnesota sub shops.

“I live in the Twin Cities and have been in Eau Claire many times, and love the warm culture,” Crockett said. “(We’re) looking forward to being part of a great city.”

Jersey Mike’s is expanding from coast to coast nationwide, and listed alongside the Eau Claire locations on the sub franchise’s “Coming Soon” webpage are three additional Wisconsin stores: one in Hartford, another in Mequon, and the last in Madison.

Though Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley are no strangers to sandwich shops – lookin’ at you, Subway, Jimmy John’s and Erbert’s & Gerbert’s – Jersey Mike’s has been able to exponentially grow and expand thanks to its expansive, fun, and fresh menu. There are Kid’s Meal options, about 24 menu choices for hot and cold sub sandwiches, as well as meatless, wrap, and bowl options.
