STAFF NOTE: Four Fun Things on the Horizon for Eau Claire & Volume One

e-bikes, trolleys, food trucks, and a Great Big Hullabaloo

Nick Meyer

Never before has spring been in the air quite as much as it is right now at Volume One. We’ve got four major things coming up you’re going to want to be in the loop on. Check them out!

1. E-BIKE RENTALS. That’s right, we’re launching full-service electric bike rentals from The Local Store, right on the bike trail downtown. Thanks to our friends at Shift Cyclery and help from Downtown Eau Claire Inc., we upgraded our side garage to become a full e-bike rental center and have everything a local or visitor needs to hit some seriously beautiful trails. We even partnered with Visit Eau Claire to create digital route maps that guide you on your way. It all launches May 1st! Learn more at eauclairebikerental.com.

2. THE GREAT BIG HULLABALOO. It’s back! Volume One’s smash-hit kids and family event, first and last held in 2019, is finally coming back to take over the entire Pablo Center on Saturday, May 20. Unless you came last time, you’ve never seen a kid event like this – because this one is actually fun for the parents, too! There’s science, art, technology, music, theater, sports & rec, and more. If you’ve got kids, you won’t want to miss it. Learn more and get tickets at VolumeOne.org/hullabaloo.

3. TROLLEY TOURS. We’re not ready to share all the exciting details yet, but this summer we’re launching a totally new community feature: The Chippewa River Trolley Co. Soon historic tours, themed tours, holiday tours, and more will be coming and going from The Local Store every week. There will be much more to come on this in the weeks ahead, but we’re telling you now because we need drivers! If you or someone you know has a CDL license with a passenger endorsement and might be interested in becoming a fun and engaging part of our team as a tour trolley driver, visit VolumeOne.org/trolley to learn more and apply now!

4. FOOD TRUCK FRIDAYS. Your favorite downtown event (according to the Annual Downtowny Awards!) is back for lunch and dinner starting Friday, May 5, with a jam-packed slate of trucks in Phoenix Park. Get it on the calendar and find line-ups and more at VolumeOne.org/foodtruckfriday.
