A brand new run/walk event is kickin’ off this summer thanks to the Northern Wisconsin State Fair and Chippewa Falls YMCA: the Ferris Wheel 5K! Slated for Saturday, July 15, options for adults and youth are available for folks interested in participating in the inaugural event.

Embracing the “fun run” title, the 5K will not be timed and will include a free T-shirt and free ticket to the 125th Northern Wisconsin State Fair rolling back into Chippewa Falls from July 12-16. The run/walk will begin at 8am at the Fairgrounds Main Gate and end at about 10am back at the starting point. Check-in and same-day registration will be at 7:30am at the C.F. YMCA.

Early Bird registration is now open for individuals and families. Early Bird family registration is $55; Early Bird adult registration is $25; Early Bird youth registration (ages 5-17) is $20.

Prices will rise by $5 after July 1.

Participants will receive the complementary NWSF admission ticket, a Ferris Wheel 5K T-shirt, a Pure Water Days Race discount, and a finisher ribbon.

The run/walk will benefit the Northern Wisconsin State Fair Barn Replacement Project, which is estimated to cost just over $730,000.
