The biz behind everyone’s favorite egg rolls from the Downtown Eau Claire Farmer’s Market officially has a permanent location! Egg Roll Express Food Truck’s founders, Mai and Nhia Yang, have adopted the former Pan Asia Kitchen space on Birch Street in Eau Claire, making it their restaurant headquarters housing their popular egg rolls and more.

“My wife and I looked at many potential restaurants in the Eau Claire area but decided on the Pan Asia restaurant because the kitchen was large and spacious,” Nhia explained. “This way we could prep enough egg rolls for both the food truck and restaurant demand.”

“We hope that customers are not only satisfied with the quality of our food but the variety we have, including Chinese, Thai, and Hmong.”

With their food truck’s past five years of growth in the Chippewa Valley community, the Yangs felt ready for the next step: a permanent restaurant space. The local fame of their food truck across multiple Valley farmers markets made for a steady kickoff and eager crowd at the new storefront.

“With the bigger kitchen, we were able to offer more options besides egg rolls,” Nhia said. “We opened our menu to other dishes, deli items, and beverages like General Tso’s chicken, pork belly, mangonada, and many more.” The most popular items so far have been the egg rolls (of course), pork belly laab, and General Tso’s chicken, Nhia said.

Other items on the restaurant’s menu are boba tea, banh mi sandwiches, vermicelli salad, pho, pad thai, and more.

Don’t worry about missing them at the weekly Eau Claire Farmers Market, though! The Yangs will still be there Wednesdays and Saturdays, as well as the Chippewa Falls farmers market on Thursdays. The storefront simply allows more opportunities for folks to taste their delicious grub.

With a restaurant, customers can also dine in and pick up meals more often. The storefront’s (2633 Birch St., Eau Claire) hours are 11am-8pm Wednesday-Friday and Sunday, and 4-8pm on Saturday.

“Our hope with our new storefront is to cater to more people not only in the Eau Claire area but surrounding areas such as Chippewa and Altoona,” Yang said. “We hope that customers are not only satisfied with the quality of our food but the variety we have, including Chinese, Thai, and Hmong.”
