3 Fall Fun Runs and Walks

we have no shortage of recreational activities and events in the Chippewa Valley, including these autumnal ones

1. The Great Pumpkin Run 5K | Saturday, Sept. 23

This run/walk is not just for Charlie Brown! In fact, it’s stroller and pet friendly, and offers the Lil' Pumpkin 1/4 Mile Run and Tiny Tot 75 Yard Pumpkin Trot for kiddos. Part of the annual River Prairie Ginormous Pumpkin Festival, folks can register online or show up the day of at 8:30am to register. The 5K race kicks off at 9am. A donation from each registration will be made to the Altoona School Care Closet.

2. NAMI Walks Wisconsin-Chippewa Valley | Saturday, Sept. 30

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Chippewa Valley is a nonprofit organization aiming to provide education, support and advocacy for those living with mental illness and their families. This one-mile walk through Carson Park is open for individuals and teams with a goal of raising $25,000 for mental health support efforts. By participating in the walk, you are also aiming to fundraise – the only “fee” to participate. The walk will start at 10am with check-in beginning at 9am.

3. Fall Back Blast | Saturday, Nov. 4

Hosted by CORBA, this multi-event run will feature a brand new event too: the 50k relay. Choose from a 5k, 12.5k, 25k, marathon, 50k, and/or 50k relay, takin’ off from the Eau Claire County Expo Center, all beginning at 8am or 8:05am. Folks are also invited to take part in a free race-week event along the 5K course, Halloween Night, at 6pm on Oct. 31. The family-friendly event encourages folks to come dressed in their Halloween best, trailside trick-or-treating also goin’ on.
