Inspired by real events in the 1920s and ‘40s, the American Broadway Musical, Bright Star, will be touching hearts and minds from Sept. 28-Oct. 1. The production will be put on by the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild and held at the Jamf Theatre in the Pablo Center (128 Graham Ave., Eau Claire).

The story is set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and follows literary editor Alice Murphy as she meets a young soldier just returning home from World War II, who is also an aspiring writer hoping to submit his work to her magazine. Their connection prompts Alice to reexamine her past, changing both of their lives forever. Filled with love, hope, and redemption, this show is one you won’t want to miss.

The musical features the Grammy-nominated score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, and is described by the New York Times as telling “a sentiment-spritzed story – of lives torn apart and made whole again – that you might be more likely to encounter in black and white…”

Tickets are $35 for adults and seniors and $15 for students, available to purchase beginning Sept. 5 through the Pablo Center website.

Tickets can be purchased online at pablocenter.org or by calling (715) 832-7529.
