‘Garden of Femininity’ Mural Adorns Lismore Parking Lot
Minneapolis-based artist brings talents to Eau Claire to promote social connection

Back in 2020 when Minneapolis was in the thick of protests over the death of George Floyd, the owners of Hello Adorn (312 S Barstow St., Eau Claire), Jess and Adam, wanted to offer their support in any way they could.
Thus, Hello Adorn created a necklace called “Entwined,” which has a 3/4-inch oval disc that is hand-pressed with a custom stamp made from original artwork by Agnieszka of Hey May Studio in Warsaw, Poland, and comes in either 14kt Gold Fill or Sterling Silver. All sales from that necklace were donated to the EC Justice League, an organization that brought supplies to the protesters in Minneapolis.
After the success of that necklace launch, the owners decided to keep selling the necklace, which was then used to fund the mural located across from the store in the Lismore Hotel parking lot. The mural, called “Garden of Femininity,” was designed and recently painted by Minneapolis-based artist Leeya Rose Jackson, who owns Leeya Makes Noise.
The mural depicts seven women of varying ethnicities surrounded by different flowers and plants, all in Leeya’s signature artistic style. With its central orange color scheme the mural inspires a sense of community and light-heartedness.
“The proposal was that the artist should come up with a project that promotes social connection and community engagement and draws upon their individual artistic background,” explained Hello Adorn General Manager Lau Richards. That was about two years ago, and the mural was completely finished this October.
Leeya led the painting charge, but about 10 Hello Adorn employees volunteered to help complete the project. Now the entire community can enjoy the mural in downtown Eau Claire, one that was a result of a mission for more inclusivity in the community.
