STAFF NOTE: Embrace the Madness

though we didn’t get the full winter experience, spring will bring the same madness

Winter has come and passed, quite quickly I might add. Now that it’s done, we Wisconsinites begin to crawl out of our dens, shed our winter coats, and embrace the warm weather. To be fair, we’ve been doing that a lot in the last couple of weeks. But, the point remains!

March is mostly known for its madness with the NCAA Basketball tournament. However, if you take a look around you’ll see madness take hold of the Valley too. That madness can vary from cleaning out the desk or office, to franticly getting ready to sign your kids up for summer activities via the Parks and Recreation webpage, or even just driving avoiding potholes while admiring the Wisconsin State Flower: the traffic cone.

Let’s not forget that spring is when events and concerts begin to start ramping up in the Valley! The springboard for summer activities! Maybe it’s the pent-up energy? After all, being locked up inside for a full season while eating leftover holiday ham and sugar treats you get on Valentine’s Day will build up some kind of energy that you can’t wait to let burst out! And when you burst, you frantically look for something to do. That project, that task list, those errands, that darn dog that needs a walk.

So go ahead and get out there and get wild with the freedom of an early spring! March is maddening, spring is maddening, life is maddening. Embrace the madness.
