Where the sinners at?

This is a fun, if kind of unsettling website: County Sin Ratings. You type in a given county from any state of The Union, and bang – you get statistics relating to the seven deadly sins. Pride is represented by the local high school dropout rate. Greed is income inequality. Envy is the unemployment rate. Wrath is violent crimes. Lust is represented by the local Chlamydia rate. Gluttony is adult obesity. And sloth is “poor or fair health.” Check out the website for explanations and reasonings for what statistics are used.

Apart from the Greed rating, Eau Claire County lands towards the “good” side of the scale. But opinions may vary. Not being a statistician (unless you count stats on the flavorful-ness of different peanut butter-based ice creams), I can’t speak to the accuracy of the ratings used by the site, but it’s loads of fun to look at. Especially the “COMPARE” feature where you can see how different counties stack up sin-wise.
