Local Ultimate Frisbee hero takes on world, wins

Eau Claire man Pat Niles was in Prague last week playing Ultimate (Frisbee) in the World Ultimate Club Championships. Pat's team – majestically named The Chad Larson Experience – won the whole ding dang thing, going undefeated and beating a Canadian team in the finals (17 to 10). Take that Ultimate Frisbee ... ers of the world!

While he lives in Eau Claire and coaches the UWEC Women's Ultimate Team, Pat usually plays for a team in the Cities. He was asked to join Iowa’s The Chad Larson Experience after a few players couldn’t make it to Prague. Looking over the final brackets, you see teams from Canada, Great Britain, Australia, Germany, and Japan. The finals where played at 2am CST, Saturday morning.

Looks like Pat played in every one of the nine games that led to winning the world title. So a big, huge congratulations to him!
