Nineteen year old Eau Clairian composer to have commissioned work performed in New York City

Michelle Enger |

If you're bored and you need something to do on June 12 – and feel like supporting a fellow Eau Clairian – why not hop on an airplane and spend your evening in New York City? EC native Kimberly Osberg’s original composition will be performed by Exponential Ensemble, as part of its "American Groove" performance at St. Peter’s Church in New York City.

Osberg, 19, is a 2010 graduate of North High School and is a music composition major at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.   She attended the New York Summer Music Festival last year where she met Pascal Archer, artistic director of the Exponential Ensemble. After Archer heard Osberg’s work, written for the flute and keyboard, he decided to commission a new piece.

Feel free to be part of Osberg’s audience when her composition “Working Together” premieres at 7pm on June 12. In New York.

Here's a bio on Osberg.
