If you are a fan of the Gemini Drive-in Movie Theater or were an aficionado of Volume One’s dearly departed Back Alley Summer Cinema Series, you’ll want to catch the free flicks and popcorn at the new Outdoor Summer Films series sponsored by UW-Eau Claire. Between June 12 and July 31, the films will be shown at 9:30pm Wednesday evenings on the west lawn of the Haas Fine Arts Center on Water Street. BYOB (in this case, that means “bring your own blankets”), lawn chairs, pop, treats, and bug spray. If it’s raining, the movie will be screened across the Chippewa River in the Woodland Theater on the third floor of Davies Center. The film series includes Oz the Great and Powerful (June 12), Singin’ in the Rain (June 19), North by Northwest (June 26), Lincoln (July 3), American Graffiti (July 10), Wreck-It Ralph (July 17), Rear Window (July 24), and 42 (July 31). For more information on the series and the films, visit their website.
