Warm Fuzzies to be delivered by Help-Portrait 2010

Jeremy Gragert |

For the first time, Eau Claire is participating in Help-Portrait 2010, an annual international event where underprivileged people in the community can get free portraits photographed, printed, and delivered this holiday season – with a photo shoot free and open to the public this Saturday, December 4. Those working on bringing this project to Eau Claire donate their time, equipment, creativity, and expertise in the spirit of holiday giving.

In 2009, this worldwide event generated 41,000 photos taken in 52 countries, and the movement continues to grow this year. “Eau Claire Help-Portrait” will be taking place at The Community Table at 320 Putnam St. from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 4.

Childcare will be available for families during the event thanks to a student from Chippewa Valley Technical College volunteering her time. SHARP is donating photo printing. Eau Claire photographer Dan Thompson (a past finalist in a Volume One Photo Contest), will be leading the shoot.
