Olson’s Ice Cream

Cone-gratulations, ice cream lovers! A legend-dairy Chippewa Falls ice cream shop started scooping it up at gorgeous Irvine Park over the summer, offering a sweet treat to visitors at a concession stand in the park’s new welcome center.

“We are excited for this opportunity to connect with more ice cream fans in this new location,” said Jeremy Hunt, co-owner of Olson’s Ice Cream. “So come on out and enjoy beautiful Irvine Park, grab an ice cream treat and a bite to eat … and keep creating those great memories with family and friends!”

The concession stand will offer rotating flavors in cones, dishes, shakes, malts, or sundaes – as well as banana splits and root beer floats.

In addition, snag some savory snacks like nachos, chips, and Sokup’s hot dogs. A portion of all proceeds go to Irvine Park.

“This partnership will provide the community with ultimate parkgoer experience and truly set us apart from any other parks in the Chippewa Valley and beyond,” said John Jimenez, director of Chippewa Falls’ Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department.

Josef’s Cheesecake Cupcakes

In the beginning, there were cheesecakes. Well, at least when it comes to Josef’s Cheesecake Cupcakes in Chippewa Falls.

And now, there’s cheesecake ice cream – a brand-new treat to beat the heat. Owner and cheesecake-maker extraordinaire Nicholas Weiner whips up his treats fresh every day, so customers get a surprise as to which flavor of cheesecake is available.

Now, Weiner has whipped up a creamy and dreamy new treat: ice cream. And the Chippewa Valley is already gobbling up the sweetness, which is only available in a one-quart size. Besides the flavors, what sets this ice cream apart is how it is made.

“Our cheesecake ice cream is made with cream cheese instead of a lot of milk or cream,” Weiner said. “Then, we add fresh ingredients to make whichever flavor I decide to make or has been requested.”

Just like his cheesecakes, he makes a handful of flavors (over 450 now!) fresh every day and when those flavors are sold out, they are gone for the rest of the day.

Check it out at Josef’s Cheesecake Cupcakes, 29 West Spring St., Chippewa Falls, or visit their Facebook page.
