Invasives Cleanup Day at Boyd Nature Park
Join scout groups, Pine Harbor area homeowners, and members of Chippewa County Land Conservancy for two hours of removing invasive plants from a community nature preserve south of Lake Wissota. Bring your gloves and have fun pulling up garlic mustard or buckthorn. Learn how to identify these nasty invaders and how to remove them from your own property. Pulling the flowering garlic mustard at this time of year pays rewards in that it prevents the plants from creating new seed. These invasives are easiest to spot at this time of year, and easy to pull. Be sue to wear long pants and socks (tick control) and bring leather work gloves. If you have a hand pruning saw or clippers, bring them along (label them). Bring water, insect defense, and sunscreen.
