Winter Fun in Dunn Launches for a Second Chilly Season

What’s more fun than enjoying the wonders of a Wisconsin winter? Enjoying the wonders of a Wisconsin winter while winning prizes!

For the second year, Health Dunn Right – a community health coalition – and Explore Menomonie have teamed up to encourage locals to stay moving and active even as the temperatures fall and snow accumulates. The “Fun in Dunn” program began in December and will run through March – just like winter itself!

You can take part by snapping a picture of yourself doing one of the suggested wintertime activities (see a partial list below) and submitting it online through a link you’ll find at exploremenomonie.com/funindunn. Winners will be drawn on the first and third Mondays of each month, so bundle up, get out there, and have some fun!

Here are some of the suggested activities:

  • Cross-country ski, snowshoe, or hike on the Red Cedar Trail
  • Go ice skating at Wolske Bay, Winter Wonderland, Dunn County Rec Park, Park Circle, or Menomonie Junction
  • Attend a hockey game at the Fanetti Community Center
  • Go tubing, cross-country skiing, or hiking at WoodWind Park
  • Take a winter walk to the library
  • Drink hot cocoa with a friend
  • Go sledding
  • Build a snowman
  • Explore the Devil’s Punchbowl
  • Go ice fishing
  • Free yoga at the Menomonie Public Library
  • Hike and snowshoe at the school forest
  • Fat tire bike at Menomin Park
  • Walk a walk at Wolske Bay Park
  • Walk the Menomin Loop
  • Attend the candlelight ski, snowshoe, and hike event on the Red Cedar Trail
