Free Clinic Finds a Home

Surprise speaker at last night's event was UW-Eau Claire nursing grad and author Michael Perry. What I love about him is he is still as humble now as he was when first on the speaker circuit at Border's (now BAM) and the Fall Creek Public Library...back in the day. I also got to hear him speak in the 90-degree plus hot and humid Zorn Arena for UW-Eau Claire commencement May 2012 with the blaze orange stole for nursing graduates. Always brings laughs yet brings home the message, and last night, that was the critical importance of the Chippewa Valley Free Clinic to our community. In addition, credits his lovely wife Ingrid for who he is today. WIN!

Is anyone else curious about how the ‘red letter grant’ works? It seems more like a piece of self serving publicity than an actual thing designed to help women start a business. It also looks like it’s only for white people.

Read "The Power of Love" and start practicing it...every single minute of every single day you are alive. All of us--men, women, regardless of what is set forth in the pursuit of happiness--need to start supporting one another if we are to move our country, our world forward. Really! Here are links:

Real Food, Real Friends

Samantha Kobbs, Fabulous article even if you were "exhausted" after a day of teaching. Thanks for taking the time to explore and write about this incredible bistro in the middle of farmland. Lovely piece, and I hope many people take the time to explore Vino Cappuccino!
