Probably a dumb question, but I'm curious.

not a dumb question, at all. I've been living in the area for about 20 years and have had the same experience. my musical tastes have had me drive to shows in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester, Lacrosse, Milwaukee, Alpine Valley and Chicago on a regular basis. It would be nice if "the music capitol of the north" had a venue that would entice artists to book shows in EC instead of just rolling tour buses by us on Hwy 94. Hopefully the Confluence Center is the answer???

The Value of Wilderness: A Hunter’s Perspective

If you truly believe that eating vegan makes you more "enlightened" or more "evolved" than those of us who are truly a part of the ecosystem by participating in fair-chase hunting and harvesting for food, I certainly will never be able to sway your convictions. The reality of hunting wild game is to use the protein that would otherwise be wasted due to game overpopulation. I personally would rather see a less fortunate family survive a winter with venison than see roads and highways riddled with deer carcasses. Would you rather see car insurance premiums rise exponentially due to wild game accidents, let alone the loss of human life that unfortunately can follow? Or would you rather see a regulated hunting season? I suppose it doesn't matter to you seeing as you only ride your bike or walk to all of your gathering destinations...

Why do skateboarders think that they belong out in the middle of streets on their little toys?

Ben-
Technically you are right. "play vehicles" which include skateboards in the state of WI are not allowed in roadways, other than crosswalks obviously. Skateboarders take the calculated risk of fines and serious injury when riding public roads. That's part of the rush. WE don't belong in the middle of the streets, WE choose to be out there enjoying the seven seas of blacktop while your wife is inside watching US and playing with her little "toys"
