Book Features Dishes by Local Hmong Cooks

Trevor Kupfer |

A new cookbook not only features recipes that have never been published before, but culinary experts in the Chippewa Valley have crafted all of the specialty dishes. Hmong Cookbook includes 15 step-by-step recipes (such as curry noodles, egg rolls, and beef salad) and profiles of each contributor, which include Kong Vang, Pa Lee (who runs Lee’s Asian Market with her husband), and Nalee Xiong (whose parents own Asian Café). The book’s organizers hope the cookbook will preserve Hmong heritage, and the proceeds help support Hmong business, entrepreneurial grants, and scholarships in the area.
