The local visual arts scene has staked quite a claim in downtown Eau Claire these past few months, as two storefronts have become new art co-ops. Tangled Up in Hue (see Page 8) opens on 416 S Barstow St. in February, while Missing Link dropped into 221 N Barstow St. in early January. Owner of the tattoo and body piercing store INKorporated, Veronica Swanson decided to create a personal art studio and space to exhibit works by local artists at the empty store next door. Currently Missing Link houses works by David Moser, a worldwide landscape and nature photographer; Jorusha Eisold, an abstract nature photographer; and Swanson, who paints acrylic portraits in the back. Some of the works are for sale at the co-op, which is open Monday through Saturday roughly noon to 8 pm. With two new art facilities, I wonder if art scenesters will prove the adage “Good things come in threes.”
