Second City Is Back for Seconds

Chicago’s Second City Touring Company to bring the funny

Mark Koenig |

So funny they levitate.

The Second City Touring Company is coming back! Get going on those diaphragm workouts because you will (most likely) laugh yourself into tears and/or the dreaded silent laugh – so much laughing, natural lung function stops. According to their interwebsite, it’s “like a cross between wisecracking super delegates and an alcoholic uncle … bringing irreverent humor and astronomical bar tabs to the masses” along with their large cast (which actually includes a Belushi, yes, that Belushi). But it’s hard to say which of the 35 cast members will make it to Eau Claire; the handful who are “deathly afraid of cameras,” the one who loves Super Scrabble, the one who is Alice Cooper’s buddy, the red grape eater, the one named Jet, the fan of life-size Sesame Street characters or the whole lot of them. Regardless of who gets off that bus, you are going to have fun. You’ll get your goofiness, physical comedy, prop comedy, general mocking, political and social satire, audience participation, and the all mighty improv skills that will engross your humorous bones. So far it sounds like a health risk, but don’t worry, someone there will be a doctor, medic, or something.  You should be OK, so take a risk and experience “the Mecca of comedy and its emissaries” with The Second City Touring Company.
