Copps Closes, Another Gordy's to Appear

Heather Mawhiney |

Gordy’s County Market, a family-owned and operated grocery store chain in the Chippewa Valley since 1966, has purchased Copps grocery store, adding to its previous location on Birch Street, to a presence to the south side of Eau Claire, and plan to be operational this September. Gordy’s also plans to build a Gordy’s Express gas station, to be operational by Nov. 1, within the Copps parking lot, allowing grocery getters and participants of their pumps perks program to immediately redeem them outside the store in addition to their three existing stations in Eau Claire, downtown Chippewa Falls, and Lake Wissota.
