The annual movie extravaganza known as the Milwaukee Film Festival is approaching quickly. Starting Sept. 23 and ending Oct. 3, this event features more than 150 films from all over the world. Among those films is Fritz Lang’s 1927 sci-fi masterpiece Metropolis, including an additional 30 minutes of footage. Festival-goers can also look forward to local filmmaker Michael Matzdorff’s comedy Feed the Fish. The film, set and shot in Northern Wisconsin, stars Tony Shalhoub, from USA’s Monk. In addition to being filmed in Wisconsin, Feed the Fish comprises a predominantly local cast and crew. Also in the lineup is the Children’s Film Festival, which will take place each weekend of the festivities. The Oriental Theatre in Milwaukee, Ridge Theatre in New Berlin, and North Shore Cinema in Mequon will host all films for the festival. More information regarding the festival and tickets can be found at www.milwaukee-film.org.
