Just Local Food to Party Like a Seven Year Old

Just Local Food: A reflective place to shop.

When a local business passes from childhood into the adolescence of established neighborhood institution, recognition is deserved. When that business not only sells products, but also has a mission that includes facilitating relationships between local farmers and consumers, building a sustainable food system, and keeping more dollars in the Chippewa Valley … well, that requires a big ol’ bash. Just Local Food just turned seven, and they will be celebrating the afternoon of Friday, May 13th, in the parking lot of their store on 1117 Farwell Ave. in Eau Claire. The celebration will feature music and some of the area’s favorite local food producers, including Lambalot Acres, Deutsch Family Farm, Maiden Rock Orchard, Castle Rock Cheese, Brewfarm brewing, and more. According to employee Nik Novak, Just Local Food, after weathering a relocation and the recession that has affected us all, is looking forward to an expanded store and more affordable offerings. But for now, it’s time to party.
