Residing here in Eau Claire is author BP Hogan, who is getting quite large in the genre of web programming books. Said books focus on the technical and creative aspects of web development by displaying and explaining elements and schemes to a professional layout, along with the ins and outs of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS3 – the behind the design languages your computer reads to make a site functional and interactive.
So what separates Hogan’s books from the other jumbles of books and articles? Well, for starters, he is all about connecting with individuals and taking them on a journey through the wires of development, taking the plug from the book and transmitting it onto your screen.
“I try to make the reader feel like he or she is right there with me,” says Hogan. “I can explain why the way we’re doing something is a good solution, and we can solve the problems together.”

The product of two teachers, Hogan is inspired by the satisfaction gained from being a small part of someone’s success and helping them avoid the roadblocks he has encountered in the past. In addition to his five publications, Hogan also developed and manages his own business, New Auburn Personal Computer Services, LLC, a small business that focuses on professional web development for other small businesses and nonprofits.
Hogan is also involved in music, participating in the RPM Challenge, where individuals take the month of February to record a full album (eight songs or 38 minutes). He plans to do it again this year, but hopefully with a collaborator.

And that’s only the iceberg of his ambitions. Hogan plans to release an e-book at the end of January, and is editing a handful of other books set to release throughout this year. If you’ve ever had an interest in web development or are a developer yourself, Hogan’s books are definitely worth checking out.
