Justin Jay Arnold Ponders Life and Death on New LP

Ed Hudgins |

The idea of “home” can surface a myriad of feelings, depending on your personal experience with that idea. However, “home” is meant to be a place of peace, joy, warmth, and love. When writing “Long Way Home,” from his recently released album, Death and Life, Justin Jay Arnold was beginning to feel at home. It was a matter of becoming comfortable in his own skin and embracing the love he found in his wife, Jodie. This feeling of home is pervasive throughout Death and Life. It is a record full of warmth and joy. This is certainly obvious in the album’s lyrics, which focus on Arnold’s marriage, his twin sons, and other intimate life experiences. It is also apparent in the richness of Arnold’s vocals, the sweet melodies, and the instrumentation utilized throughout. These are songs borne out of healing from deep pain and filtered through a grateful heart. You can find the album online at justinjayarnold.bandcamp.com.
