Unmasking the Violence

fundraiser masquerade raises sexual assault awareness

February is known as the month of giving candy hearts and fancy chocolates to those we adore. With love in the air, it is also important to learn the signs of unhealthy relationships. In recognition of this important cause, the Bolton Refuge House is hosting a masquerade ball to bring education and awareness to domestic violence and sexual assault as a community issue. The masquerade ball inspires our community to speak out against these issues and celebrate the healthy relationships in our lives. The Bolton Refuge House works to bring forward hope and empower victims all while ending violence in our community. It provides advocacy services, emergency shelter, and transitional housing to survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The programs and services create safe space for victims and their families and advocates for social change. Proceeds from the masquerade ball will go to support victim services and community education. All of us deserve to have healthy and supportive people in our lives. Bring your significant other, family, and friends (ages 12 and up) and be a part of a wonderful event for a noble cause. Enjoy a dessert buffet and cash bar along with some great music (bring your own dance moves). In addition, there will be a mask contest for a chance to win prizes so get out the glitter and paint, and put those creative juices to work. We’ll see you at the ball!
