Want to hit the trail with your canine companion? On Saturday, May 21, the Eau Claire County Humane Association will kick off its 30th Annual Fido and Friends Fun Run/Walk at Carson Park. Come gather at the Pine Pavilion from 11am through 3pm to raise awareness about animal welfare and to support the local shelter. The day is sure to be a barking good time with prizes for pledge raisers, concessions, vendor tables, and a cash raffle. Four-legged best friends are welcome at the event as they’re on a leash and their shots are up to date. And if you want to show off your dog’s talents, feel free to participate in the Silly Pet Tricks Contest. You can take part in the run/walk for one, two, or the whole three miles. The entry fee for the event is $30 and comes with the gift of a free T-shirt and dog tags. Collecting pledges for the run/walk is encouraged, and all proceeds go to the Eau Claire County Humane Association. Registration starts at 11am, and the run/walk begins at noon. The event will be a time to come together with friends and family – furry or otherwise – while helping a good cause while you’re at it.
