On May 18, supporting the Open Door Clinic in Chippewa Falls is as easy as going out to eat! Who knew eating good food could be so charitable? According to its mission statement, “The Open Door Clinic was established to provide basic health care services and a connection to community resources to Chippewa County residents who are without a health care alternative.” Most of its funding comes from local donations, so the clinic created the annual Meet to Eat fundraiser, inviting restaurants and hungry folks across the Chippewa Valley to help out the cause. How does this work? At participating eateries on May 18, 25 percent of your bill will be donated to the Open Door Clinic. The more customers these restaurants receive, the larger the donation, so go grab some grub! Additionally, local businesses have donated prizes that will be available to those who enter a drawing. Restaurants will provide envelopes to enter your name into the contest, and patrons will be selected at random to win. Participating restaurants include Chippewa Family Restaurant, Deb’s Café, Duncan Creek’s Farm Store Grille, Goodies, Harms Way Bar & Grill, High Shores Supper Club, Horizons Lounge, Lucy’s Deli, Old Abe’s Supper Club, The Lodge, The SandBar & Grill, and Xpeditions Coffee Company & Market. Sponsors making the Meet to Eat fundraiser possible include A to Z Embroidery, Brown Builders, HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital, ITW Deltar Fasteners, Leinenkugel’s, Marshfield Clinic, Mason Companies, Mayo Clinic Health System, Northwestern Bank, Oakleaf Surgical Hospital, Royal Credit Union, and Security Health. Get out and do some good: Go eat!
