'Round Here Summer Means Music

Nick Meyer |

The great Wisconsin summer is upon us,  and in the Chippewa Valley that comes with a healthy dose of music. For decades now music has been a big tradition here in the summer, but this last decade has seen an explosion of summer sounds. From major new festivals to interesting new venues to dozens of weekly outdoor concerts, across the whole Valley you’d almost have no problem seeing a show every night of the week without hitting the same spot twice all summer. To help kick off the season we have our annual Summer Music Preview assembled for you right here. It’s got all the highlights of what’s available across the valley this season, from big festivals to recurring community concerts and more – and much of it is free to attend. One of those offerings, our own Sounds Like Summer Concert Series on Thursdays in Phoenix Park, kicks off this week on June 1. It’s our 12th season of what’s become a full-blown weekly festival along the river in Downtown Eau Claire – a place where it’s guaranteed nearly 2,000 people will be out to see local bands perform. You can find the schedule and all the info at VolumeOne.org/concerts. Then check out that Summer Music Preview section inside and schedule yourself a healthy dose of music this season. Grab the family, some friends, and soak up that Wisconsin summer.
